Nokia 7.2 Cameras
Let’s begin with what appeals the most in the Nokia 7.2, the cameras. The new circular design of the module houses three camera lenses by Zeiss. The primary sensor is the now-famous Sony IMX 586 48MP shooter with an aperture of f/1.79. The secondary lens is a wide-angle shooter with a resolution of 8MP, and the third camera is just a depth sensor for portrait shots. It would have been nice to see a telephoto lens instead. The cameras do look promising and there’s a good chance that the Nokia 7.2 offers one of the best camera experiences in its segment. If you take a lot of selfies, you will be pleased to know that the Nokia 7.2 has a 20MP front-facing shooter.
Display on the Nokia 7.2
The display on the Nokia 7.2 is also special in a certain way. The 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a waterdrop notch can go up to 500 nits of brightness and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. But the unique aspect is that the display is HDR 10 compliant which makes it a great choice if you consume a lot of content. The HDR capabilities are always on and are not restricted to certain apps or platforms thanks to active SDR to HDR conversion.
Performance
While we spoke about how the Nokia 7 Plus was one of the best smartphones from HMD, the Snapdragon 660 chipset which was new at that time makes its way back to the Nokia 7.2, except for the fact that its now relatively old and there are much more powerful chipsets like the Snapdragon 675 and Snapdragon 710 already being offered on various smartphones. There’s up to 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of onboard storage which can be expanded using a dedicated Micro SD card slot. There’s a 3500mAh battery which charges over USB-C.
Android One Software
The Nokia 7.2, just like every Nokia smartphone is a part of the Android One program which makes it one of the primary choices if extended software support is your priority. The Nokia 7.2 runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box and according to HMD, the smartphone is ready to be upgraded to Android 10, the OTA for which will be rolled out soon. 2 years of Android version upgrades means that the Nokia 7.2 will get updated to at least Android 12.
Nokia 7.2 Pricing and Availability
