In terms of design and build, the Osmo Action is claimed to have an intuitive design with rugged construction, which allows it to handle extreme conditions and be dustproof, shockproof, and waterproof. DJI also says that the design allows the camera to operate in sub-freezing temperatures. Coming to specifications, the Osmo Action comes with two color screens on both the front and back to allow users to better compose a scene while on the move. The rear screen is a 2.25-inch touchscreen display with water and fingerprint repelling coating installed on top, whereas, the front is a 1.4-inch display that is convenient for vlogging and taking selfies. On the imaging front, the Osmo Action comes equipped with a 1/2.3-inch sensor that is capable of recording 12MP photos and 4K video up to 60fps. The lens cap comes with two layers of anti-fingerprint coating to keep shots clean and bright and an anti-reflective coating to reduce lens glare. DJI says that the Osmo Action is the first DJI handheld camera that incorporates the company’s RockSteady EIS that allows users to capture smooth, stable, and high-quality video, even in 4K/60fps. In addition to this, the camera can also record HDR video in 4K/30fps with dynamic range, natural transitions between light and dark areas, and rich details. The Osmo Action has a 1300mAh, which according to the company offers a run time of 93 minutes recording at 4K/30fps with RockSteady enabled, and 135 minutes recording at 1080p/30fps without RockSteady.
